Question by BARl)OCK: Whats the best 1080p LCD TV I can get for gaming?
Im looking to buy a LCDTV…
I want to know what TV will be worth my money…

Size wise Im looking from 32inches to 45inches…no smaller and no bigger…with a 10,000:1 contrast ratio…atleast 2 hdmi inputs…

I noticed that sharp had 1080p LCD Tvs with 3 hdmi inputs and a 10,000:1 contrast ratio…for a lower price then the competitors..

Im going to be using this TV for harcore gaming so what TV should I go with?

Does a digital cable picture look bad on a lcd 1080p hdtv?

Question by fiendteaser: Does a digital cable picture look bad on a lcd 1080p hdtv?
A co-worker is selling their 40″ lcd 1080p hdtv to get a bigger tv. I want to buy it but I only have cable because its included in my rent. But I don’t watch a lot of tv (except for some sports); I want an hdtv mainly for gaming and movies. I’m worried that cable will look so bad I won’t be able to watch any sports, etc. on tv.

Best answer:

Answer by j m
It’s not too bad. I have a 1080 and it is still very watchable for sports and everything else on regular cable. When you get the T.V. I would mess around with the settings and fine tune it to what looks best to you so you get the best picture possible. Regular 480i (cable tv) doesn’t look much different on an LCD than it does on a tube TV.. But if you have a cable company that supports High Definition cable and has high definition cable boxes, it might be worth investing in if you decide you want to watch a little more television. Sports are broadcast in HD with a lot of cable companies now and it’s awesome to watch. Something to think about… Good luck and enjoy it if you get it :)

Answer by diamonddude101
I was looking at the exact two TV’s but decided to go for the 37LG30 (LG) instead. It’s only $ 100 bucks more from Best Buy. But if i had to choose from both of those, I would go with the Samsung. It’s a better brand in general.

What would be better a LCD HDTV with 1080p and 60Hz or a LCD HDTV with 720p and 600Hz?

Question by quickistheone: What would be better a LCD HDTV with 1080p and 60Hz or a LCD HDTV with 720p and 600Hz?
They are both 40 inch. They both have a 2,000:1 contrast ratio. I will mainly be using it for Gaming, but also movies.

Best answer:

Answer by a Halo 1 Elite
obviously the LCD HDTV 1080p it has higher quality and uses MUCH lesss power than then the 720p tv

By the way, that 600Hz will add a very large number on your power bill.

Even though it is more expensive, the 1080p tv is more worth it because not only will you enjoy higher quality tv, but you will also save a lot of money because it uses less power

Is a converter box nessicary for a Philips 42-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV?

Question by Mike M: Is a converter box nessicary for a Philips 42-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV?
We use an antena to get our TV, but because of the digital switch we get nothing. I was wondering if a converter box is needed for all TV’s, or just old ones. I heard that new HDTVs do NOT need the box, but would we need one for the above mentioned TV.

Ok 42inch Vizio 1080p 60hz will that be good for video gaming?

Question by : Ok 42inch Vizio 1080p 60hz will that be good for video gaming?
hello i found a 42inch vizio 1080p 60hz i will use this tv 90% of the time playing games on my xbox 360. will the 60hz stink on a tv that big i dont want to spend $ 80 more for 120hz if 60hz will play just fine on a 42inch tv

Best answer:

Answer by Edvin
42 inch is the lowest you can go to get the FULL benefits of an HD tv. BUT, I would say the BEST TV on a budget would have to be a tv that is both 1080p AND at 72hz. Also, you should always look at the contrast ratio as well, some TV would have big numbers on everything but lag it on the ratio. Panasonic came out with a TV recently that is 60inch, 1million:1 ratio, 120hz, 1080p, AND internet connectivity for ONE GRAND.
