60hz LCD TV at 50hz?????????????????????

Question by jane: 60hz LCD TV at 50hz?????????????????????
Recently I bought Sony Bravia KDL40w3500 LCD TV (korean model) which indicates for 220V 60Hz.

But soon I have to move from Korea to Russia where the voltage is 220V 50HZ. I know i can’t use watching broadcasting channels.

Still Can i safely use it In Russia with 50hz?
I Just need to use it watching movies or for games from PC.

THAnks!

Should be fine… I’ll try to dig up some specifics

Sony is really bad about labeling their units for the power standard in the region when they are actually universal. Most electronics work just fine whether 50 or 60 Hz. Luckily you’ll still be on 220 when you go to Russia. I give it a 99% chance of working without any problems.

If you want to be 100% certain, sell this one and get a multisystem TV.

You should expect to see noticeable fast motion blur on a 46 inch 60 Hz LCD. With a screen size that large, 120 Hz is pretty much necessary, especially for gaming.

Another spec that’s important is the TV’s response time. You want not more than 4 ms. Anything more also contributes to a motion blur problem.

Bottom line: I wouldn’t consider anything less than 120 Hz and 4 ms. for a 46 inch LCD used for gaming or almost anything else, i.e. any program with fast action like sports.

is a vizio 42inch 1080p 60hz lcd tv good for video games?

Question by Joey B: is a vizio 42inch 1080p 60hz lcd tv good for video games?
i dont have enough for brands like sony or samsung . should i get a insignia 42 or vizio 42 for xbox360 gaming

Best answer:

Answer by kg7or
No. You don’t want a 60 hz set for video games. You won’t like the fast-motion blur. For an LCD, accept nothing less than 120 hz, and also check for a fast response time, preferably about 5 ms or less.

Alternately, if games are your main focus, consider a plasma set instead of LCD. No fast motion blur.

Should be about the same.

The issue is that 120 HZ or even 240 Hz should create smoother motion. However it does make some people nauseous.

What would be better a LCD HDTV with 1080p and 60Hz or a LCD HDTV with 720p and 600Hz?

Question by quickistheone: What would be better a LCD HDTV with 1080p and 60Hz or a LCD HDTV with 720p and 600Hz?
They are both 40 inch. They both have a 2,000:1 contrast ratio. I will mainly be using it for Gaming, but also movies.

Best answer:

Answer by a Halo 1 Elite
obviously the LCD HDTV 1080p it has higher quality and uses MUCH lesss power than then the 720p tv

By the way, that 600Hz will add a very large number on your power bill.

Even though it is more expensive, the 1080p tv is more worth it because not only will you enjoy higher quality tv, but you will also save a lot of money because it uses less power

What is a typical response time or best for a 60HZ LCD?

Question by We need mafia back screw hogan: What is a typical response time or best for a 60HZ LCD?
My TV is 3ms response time it says, but also it’s a 120hz LCD,
is the reason my LCD has a 3ms response time because of
the 120hz refresh rate.

Best answer:

Answer by King Julien
Yes. The better the refresh rate (120hz) the better the response. I avoided the problem all together by buying a DLP and not an lcd or plasma. 60 hz are any where from 5-12ms. Theres no standard for measuring these things. You really just have to watch the tv and decide what looks best to you.

Question by : Ok 42inch Vizio 1080p 60hz will that be good for video gaming?
hello i found a 42inch vizio 1080p 60hz i will use this tv 90% of the time playing games on my xbox 360. will the 60hz stink on a tv that big i dont want to spend $ 80 more for 120hz if 60hz will play just fine on a 42inch tv

Best answer:

Answer by Edvin
42 inch is the lowest you can go to get the FULL benefits of an HD tv. BUT, I would say the BEST TV on a budget would have to be a tv that is both 1080p AND at 72hz. Also, you should always look at the contrast ratio as well, some TV would have big numbers on everything but lag it on the ratio. Panasonic came out with a TV recently that is 60inch, 1million:1 ratio, 120hz, 1080p, AND internet connectivity for ONE GRAND.
