Question by Funeral: Why does my Insignia 32 inch LCD HDTV 720p TV take like 6 seconds to come on?
I have an Insignia 32 inch LCD HDTV and when I press the power button it comes on but there is nothing on the screen and then after about 5 slow seconds in counting the screen displays the words
please wait….. and then 3 slow seconds pass and then the screen finally comes on,why is that?It is a brand new TV I got for my birthday?

pretty sweet tv 6 seconds is nothing, I would wait 10 if i had 2

I moving in a couple of months over seas and I need a good idea for shipping my new tv. I’m going overseas so a moving company will be moving it and I can’t be there to babysit it on it way there. Are there any special boxes they make? I have seen one but it was almost $ 800. I don’t want to spend this much.

I can only speak from a common sense approach. I have never moved an LCD that distance. I would find a very large box, sturdy, that allows for plenty of room on each side with the TV in it, at least 12 inches. I would then wrap the TV in multiple blankets, 4 to 5 at least. Tape the blankets together on the outside so they don’t come off of the TV, no tape on the TV! Place the wrapped TV in the box and pour packing peanuts around it to fill in any open space.

They have mailing tubes if it’s narrow. If not check the post office they usually have sizes for things that can be mailed.

Hey I was wondering what’s the best for gaming because in the living room my dad has an LG 50 inch plasma 1080i HDTV and my ps3 has a split second lag between when I press a button on the controller and when it actually responds and a forty inch would fit my room perfectly.

i got a sony 60 inch lcd tv from 2004 and recently we had to re set it up, and now in the top left corner it keeps saying 5 and it will not go away, how can i get it to stop doing this?

On the TV remote press the display button until the display goes away.
