Answer by Stupid Should Hurt
We bought a Samsung 40″ LCD a few months ago and we are very happy with it. Sound is good and picture is fantastic. We looked at quite a few makes and models and found that, for the money, the Samsung had the best picture and color. The sales guy who sold it to us also suggested that it isn’t necessary to go for the higher resolution TV’s at that screen size because you really can’t tell the difference until you get up around the 50″ range. I looked at a 1080dpi TV side-by-side with ours, and couldn’t tell the difference. So, in short, no complaints here.

Is should be ref to LCD ” MOTION BLUR “/
look at the ball. >

http://www.plasma-lcd-facts.co.uk/myths/response/

Due to LCD response time . there must be so call ” motion blur ” .
standard refresh rate 60 HZ LCD TV the motion blur is very uncomfortable to our eye in sports movies / games.
120 HZ or even 200HZ refresh rate make that kind of ” blur ” more comfortable to our eye. keep in mind . in technologies , is not totally ” cut it off “. is just HIDE it away . usually mose of the human eye accept 120 HZ model .even that still a little ” motion blur ” SUBJECT TO MAKER / TV TOTAL QUALITY.
the best is 120 HZ with 4 ms ( g to g standard ) response time LCD display panel.some maker still use 5 or 6 ms Response time display panel for their 120 HZ model ! * because of prices * beware of this.
you should look for model with 120 HZ with 4 ms Response time. ( 4 ms is the best ! some maker claim lower as 2 ms , because there use b to b standard . ie LG brand . 2 ms = Samsung 4 ms ).
^^^^^^
LED TV is great , about 0 ” motion blur ” to our eye. ( technologies ” blur “will be still there)
New Samsung / Sharp 32 inc LED TV just on the market. but cost much more. that should be good for you.
^^^^^^^^
Plasma is PREFECT. because of about 0 response time 600 HZ refresh rate. totally with out motion blur. rich in colours / dark colours. perfect to fast action movies / games.
new Plasma technologies easy burn in is not an issue any more . even long hours or over night for games / still image . need not to worries. new Plasma TV with anti burn in circuit designs ! .
40 inc Plasma TV prices is lower than any hi end 40 inc LCD TV.
if you like to change to big screen . joint the 40 % smart people over the pass 6 months. read this.

Cheapest one I found on Amazon:

There are cheaper vendors if you look at Google shopping, but I am not sure how trusted they are. Better be safe and pay $ 40 more than sorry and loose $ 900.

Question by : PS3 HDMI Help with Samsung 40 inch HDTV?
For Christmas I just received a 40 inch Samsung flat screen HDTV and I have a PS3. I got an HDMI cable, and connected it from the TV to the PS3. Now when I have the regular yellow, red, and white cables in, the PS3 works, but it looks pretty bad. When I try to connect the HDMI cable, a black screen and nothing else appears, and it’s really annoying. Any tips on how to make it work? Thanks!

Q&A: i have a Samsung 40″ LCD HDTV 1080p 60 hz television. how do i clean the SCREEN?

Question by Jasper the Hobo Ghost: i have a Samsung 40″ LCD HDTV 1080p 60 hz television. how do i clean the SCREEN?
it came with a cloth that shows a few pictures on cleaning it. BUT ONLY THE PERIMETER, NOT THE ACTUAL SCREEN. once picture shows the cloth being used on the frame of the t.v. the other picture shows a bottle labeled water being sprayed on the cloth. i read the T.V. manual, nothing, NOTHING was said about how to clean it. i assume i can use water. but some T.V.’s can be harmed by water, or chemicals. i don’t recall the model number so i hope that isn’t a problem. i’ve onle wiped the screen with that cloth, but no liquid of any kind since i bought it in november. PLEASE HELP!
so using water is ok on the screen? then why do some LCD HDT.V.’s use chemicals?

Best answer:

Answer by Soni H
Just use a slightly damp and extremely soft cloth to clean it. Use a very light touch, since LCD screens are very sensitive. I’ve been doing it that way on my computer monitor for years now with no problems. DO NOT use any chemicals (windex, etc.) as you could potentially damage the screen. A lint-free cloth works best usually.

What are all the Samsung 37 inch LCD TV models?

Question by .: What are all the Samsung 37 inch LCD TV models?
I checked on the Samsung website but I don’t think they show all models because I can find certain models in shops but not on the Samsung website. =(

If somebody could kindly list them all that would be really helpful! =) Thank you.

Best answer:

Answer by Texperson
On Samsung’s site, they list all the models for this year, the B series. In some stores they may still have last year’s models, the A series. They could also have returns and refurbs which are even older. And during the year, sometimes the manufacturer’s discontinue a certain tv, so they remove it from their site, but the stores still sell it.

And Walmart, Costco, etc. often have slightly different model numbers with some missing features from the main model numbers on the web site for various reasons. All you can do is look at the features and buy what meets your needs.

So that’s where you may find a difference.

Would you choose a 40′ Samsung 60 hz LCD or a 42′ Philips 120 hz lcd?

Question by richard: Would you choose a 40′ Samsung 60 hz LCD or a 42′ Philips 120 hz lcd?
I’m confused on which to buy. I don’t know if I should go with the better brand with not as good specs or a not as popular brand with better specs. The reason being is I heard that LCD TV’s can be blurry when watching sports but the 120hz is supposed to fix it but I didn’t know if a samsung with 60hz would be more clear or not. Thanks in advance

Best answer:

Answer by RICH
I would go for the Samsung 60 hz. I looked into the 60 and 120 cycle sets…and could see little to no difference at a viewing distance. In fact, I thought it made DVD movies look WORSE in 120 cycle mode. Save the money and go with Samsung. The 120 does not fix the inherent ‘blurr’ of LCD..Plasma will fix any blurr problems, as it has a very fast response time.
